How do I reference a Cochrane Library Systematic Review? (Harvard style)

A highly respected source of evidence for health professionals, the Cochrane Library maintains a database of systematic reviews. If you wish to reference one of these, Cite Them Right offers the following Harvard template:

Systematic reviews (Harvard) 

Citation order:

  • Author (surname followed by initials)
  • Year of publication (in round brackets)
  • Title and any subtitle (in single quotation marks)
  • Database name (in italics)
  • Issue number
  • Article number (CD ...)
  • and if accessed online: Available at: DOI or URL (Accessed: date)

Examples

  • In-text citation : Following a systematic review (Pasquali et al., 2018) ...
