What are SCONUL Access User Bands?
Last Updated: 23.Mar.2023 Views: 107

The SCONUL Access scheme aims to provide reciprocal access for staff and students with other member libraries and it does this by assigning Access Bands to its users.

SCONUL defines the Access Bands as the following:

  • Band A: staff (both academic and support staff) and research students
  • Band B: part-time, distance learning and placement students
  • Band C: full time taught postgraduates
  • Band R: reference access to full-time undergraduates

The University of Wolverhampton Libraries currently allow access to all Access Bands but this is subject to change.

If you are a member of the University of Wolverhampton looking to use the library facilities of another member institution, you should check with them first if any access restrictions are in place for your band.
