Can I donate books to the Library?

Thank you very much for thinking of donating your books to the University Library. We are happy to accept items in great condition (no highlighting, missing pages, etc.) that meet either of the below criteria:

  1. the title is on a current module reading list

or

  1. the book is on a topic relevant to our current courses AND it was published in the last 5 years

Items donated that fall into one of these categories will be reviewed by our subject Librarians. Not all items donated will be added to our collection. Any items donated that are not deemed suitable will be donated to charity as part of our standard stock withdraw

If your items do not fit into one of the above categories - have you thought about selling them yourself on second-hand book sites such as Amazon or Ebay, sending to companies such as We Buy Books or Music Magpie (other sites exist, please look on Google), or donating to a local charity shop? If you have specialist materials e.g. historical items, perhaps a Local History Society or Archives would be interested.

Please contact the Library if you have any questions.

Be aware that the Library is not able to collect donations; items need to be brought to one of the University campuses.
