How can I search for journal articles from the UK?

Each source you search will need a different approach - there is no standard way to find articles about a specific country.

If you are using the LibrarySearch library catalogue there is no geography option on the search results page.

Instead we recommend going into Advanced Search and using a line of keywords to cover the geographical possibilities along with your topic keywords, for example:

UK OR united kingdom OR great britain OR england

advanced search on the library catalogue showing string of keywords

Some subject databases such as Cinahl and Scopus have a Geography/Country filter available for narrowing down search results - look at the Advanced Search page for the options, or when you have results on the screen look for a Geography/Location filter, for example:

geography filter from cinahl     geographic subset box from ebsco

country / territory filter from scopus

Please note that in these cases, the geography may relate more to where the source Journal Title is based rather than the location where any study or research was undertaken.

UK-based journals publish articles that discuss situations in other countries, and international journals may include articles that focus on the UK.
