I need a replacement University ID card, how do I get one?

Student University ID cards are designed to last the entire length of your course, new cards are not re-issued every academic year. If you have had a card before but need a replacement it will usually cost £10.
If you have never had a card, please contact the Library.
If you are a member of staff, please contact HR.
How do I get a replacement?
There are two options:
- The Library at City/Harrison can usually print one during our core opening hours. Hutchison Library at Telford does not have a card printer. "Core opening hours" refers to the Library building being open but not fully staffed, e.g. on days a Library is open until Midnight the "core" staff may only work "office hours". Please contact us before making a special journey to campus to ensure you will be able to ask for a card.
- Alternatively, you can use Library chat to arrange for a card to be printed for you - it can then be collected from the Campus Library of your choosing or posted. Remember to provide your student number when you chat. Please note: chat is available 24/7, supported by international operators when Library staff are not in work. If you chat to one of these operators they will take your details and create a ticket for the Library staff to respond to during our next working day.
When does it cost £10?
- You've lost it
- You have chosen to upload a new photograph
The £10 charge will be added to your Library account in the same way as an overdue fine. See the FAQ in the links below for ways to pay.
When are replacements free of charge?
- You have started a new course after a gap in study - the system does not always recognise that you need a new card!
- Your name has changed; please ensure you have changed your name on e:Vision before contacting us (ASK@WLV can advise on how to do this)
- You need a green researcher card instead of a blue student card
- It's faulty
Please contact the Library if you have any questions.
