There's a book on my library account, but I have already returned it. What do I do?

Please contact the Library as soon as possible with the following details:

  • Your student/staff number
  • The details of the book
  • Which campus Library you took it to and when

 

Library staff will then:

  • Mark the item as 'claimed returned' status on your Library account.
  • Search for the book on our shelves.
  • If we find it, we will return it from your account. We will not usually contact you when it is found, unless you specifically ask us to do so.
  • If we cannot find it, the book will remain on your account and you will be liable to pay a lost book fee (currently a flat fee of £50 regardless of the original cost) or provide an equivalent replacement copy in excellent condition. We therefore encourage you to double check that you haven't still got the book in your possession somewhere.
