How do I make a room booking in the library?

Room bookings can be made in LibCal.

  • From the LibCal homepage, click Book a Space or Room
  • Select the location, zone, category and capacity from the drop-down menus, and click Show Availability
  • Click on the block for the time you want to book for – so if you are booking from 1pm, click on the block in the 1pm column. The system will then automatically populate the booking form for an hour
  • Use the drop-down menu at the bottom of the booking page to adjust the end time of the booking
  • Click Submit Times
  • At this point you may be asked to log in – use your University email address and password
  • The Terms & Conditions for the room/study space will now be shown. Click Continue to accept these and move to the next step of the booking
  • The booking details page will now be shown – you need to type in your student number, then click Submit my Booking.
  • You will receive a confirmation email.

If you can't find the confirmation email, here are some tips:

  • The email will be sent to your University Email Address.
  • Please check your Spam Folder and 'Other' Inbox, if you have focus mode enabled.
  • Using the email search, the sender will be alerts@mail.libcal.com.
  • If you still are unable to find the confirmation email, please contact us, via Assist prior to the booking, or at the helpdesk if you are due to start the booking.
